lovingmemory.uk is a memorial platform for creating a personalised tribute page for someone who has died. A page can hold photos, a biography, a timeline of their life, family connections, funeral details, a charity link, and a space for anyone who knew them to leave a tribute.
What is the QR medallion?
The QR medallion is a small weatherproof disc carrying a unique QR code. Scanning it with any phone camera opens the memorial page straight away — no app to install. It can be fixed to a headstone, bench, tree, urn, or keepsake.
Do I need a medallion to use lovingmemory.uk?
No. A memorial page works perfectly well on its own and can be shared by link. The medallion simply makes the page reachable at a graveside or bench, where a link in a message is not much use.
Can I create a page for a pet?
Yes. Choose a pet memorial during setup and the wording throughout the page adapts to suit — the same photos, stories, timeline, and tributes, without language written for a person.
How much does it cost?
A QR medallion is a one-time £39.00 purchase and includes a Premium memorial page — unlimited photos, unlimited timeline entries, an unrestricted biography, and every feature unlocked. There are no monthly fees or subscriptions, and the page is hosted at no further cost.
What is the difference between a Free and a Premium page?
A free page is a complete, dignified memorial: a photo, biography, timeline, family, tributes, candles, and charity donations. It is capped at 5 gallery photos, 5 timeline entries, and a 1,000-character biography. Premium removes all three caps and adds a banner photo, background music, themes, tribute photos, additional page admins, and AI-assisted setup.
Can I upgrade a free page later?
Yes. A free page can be upgraded to Premium at any time from the page settings, and nothing you have already added is lost. A medallion purchase includes Premium, so there is nothing further to pay if you bought one.
Are there any hidden charges?
No. Everything is one-time. There is no subscription, no renewal, no per-visitor cost, and no charge for tributes, photos, or visitors scanning the medallion.
How do I set up a memorial page?
Create an account, then follow the guided setup — name, dates, a photo, and a few words. It takes a few minutes, and nothing has to be finished in one sitting. If you have a medallion, scanning it takes you to the same setup for the page it is linked to.
I have a eulogy already written. Can I use it?
Yes. On a Premium page you can paste in a eulogy or order of service and it will be turned into a biography, a timeline, and a list of family members. It goes straight onto the page so you can see it — read it through, change anything that is wrong, and if it is not right at all, one click undoes the whole import.
How many photos can I upload?
A free page holds up to 5 gallery photos. A Premium page — including every page that came with a medallion — has no limit. Photos are resized and optimised automatically, so large files from a phone or camera are fine.
Can I edit the page after it is set up?
Yes, at any time. Sign in and you can change photos, rewrite the biography, add timeline events, manage tributes, and update family connections. A memorial is rarely finished in one go, and there is no limit on changes.
Can anyone leave a tribute?
Yes. Anyone who visits the page can leave a message with their name — no account needed, which matters when the person leaving it is elderly or standing at a graveside. Tributes are screened for inappropriate language automatically, and you can choose whether they appear immediately or wait for your approval.
What if someone leaves something upsetting?
You can remove any tribute, and visitors can report one for you to review. Tributes can be turned off entirely, and a specific visitor can be blocked if they persist. You are always in control of what appears on the page.
Can visitors light a candle?
Yes. Anyone can light a virtual candle in memory, which stays lit for a time and is counted on the page. It gives people who did not know what to write a way to mark that they visited.
Can I share the page without the medallion?
Yes. Every page has a share panel with a link to copy, a share button, and a QR code you can download and print — on an order of service, a memorial card, or a notice at the wake.
Can I keep a memorial page out of public view?
Yes. Every page is unlisted unless you choose otherwise, which means it will not appear in our directory or in search results. The link and the medallion still open it for anyone you give them to — that is what the medallion is for. You can list or unlist the page at any time from the page settings.
How do I sign in?
With the email address and password of the account that set the page up. There is no separate page password to remember — access is tied to your account, and you can add other family members as page admins so more than one person can help look after it.
What if I forget my password?
Use the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in page and a reset link will be emailed to you. If you no longer have access to that email address, contact us and we will help you prove ownership and recover the page.
Is my data safe?
Memorial pages are hosted securely and access is protected by your account password. We do not sell or share your data with third parties, and an unlisted page is not indexed by search engines.
Can the page show funeral details?
Yes. You can add the date, time, venue, directions, dress code, and any practical notes such as parking or flowers. Once the service has passed, those details fold away to a short summary on their own, so the page does not stay stuck on a day that has already happened.
Can I link family members to their own memorial pages?
Yes. When you add a family member who also has a page on lovingmemory.uk, the two can be linked once both sides agree, building a connected family history across generations.
Can I create a page for myself while I am still alive?
Yes. You can write your own story in your own words rather than leaving it to others at the worst possible time. A living page asks you to nominate several people you trust, and if the account goes unused for a long period we contact you first, and only then offer those people the chance to take it over.
What happens to the page when I am gone?
Nothing is lost. For a living memorial, the people you nominated can take over looking after it. For any other page, additional page admins you have added keep full access, which is why we encourage adding a second family member early.
I am a funeral director. Can I offer this to families?
Yes. Funeral directors buy page credits in volume and set memorials up on a family's behalf as part of their service, with their own branding shown on the page and an optional message of condolence posted automatically. Get in touch and we will set up a partner account.
